Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has been receiving some heat from fighters and fight fans as of late. “Bones” finally made his big octagon return at UFC 214 earlier this year, after suffering a year long suspension due to a failed drug test back in 2016.
For the fight, Jones went toe-to-toe with heated rival and reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier. Jones earned a knockout victory over his opponent, but the win was short lived. Jones was stripped of his light heavyweight title and his knockout victory was overturned to a no contest after it was revealed that Jones failed his USADA drug test, on both his A and B sample, for UFC 214. That being said, it would appear that Jones is still calling himself champion.
Taking to Instagram for Thanksgiving, Jones offered a message for his dedicated fight fans. Here is what the fighter had to say:
“Good afternoon everybody, this is your friend and your champion Jon “Bones” Jones, just wanted to take a brief moment out of my day to wish you all a very special and happy Thanksgiving.” said the former UFC light heavyweight champion. “I sure am very happy every single one of you, especially those that support me.”
