It would appear that Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom Mackenzie Dern has landed a fight contract.
Dern appeared on the recent edition of The MMA Hour to share the news with MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani. The former world No. 1 ranked IBJJF competitor will now be fighting under the Invicta FC banner, as Dern revealed.
Dern is undefeated in her mixed martial arts career, with four wins to her name under the LFA and LFC promotions. Now the fighter is set to make her Invicta FC debut within the strawweight division on Dec. 8, as will be available through the UFC Fight Pass streaming service. The fighter will be facing former title challenger Kaline Medeiros for the exciting match up. As the grappling phenom has previously voiced her interest in joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), it will be interesting to see where Dern’s career in MMA takes her.
Most recently, Dern earned a first round submission victory over Mandy Polk at LFA 24 in October.
