Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler lost his title Brent Primus earlier this year, when the fighter suffered a sprained foot in the first round of their match up. Following the controversial loss, Chandler was aiming for an immediate rematch against his opponent. However, it would appear that the former champion will not be getting a shot at the title in his next Bellator MMA performance after all.
As reported by MMA Fighting, Michael Chandler is now set to face off against Goiti Yamauchi at Bellator 192. The fight will go down Jan. 20 inside The Forum in Inglewood, Calif.
Yamauchi is on a three fight winning streak at the moment, with a first round submission finish in each of the performances. Most recently, the fighter earned a rear-naked choke victory over Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 183.
