Conor McGregor attempted to take over the world of boxing in August. For his big professional boxing debut, the UFC superstar locked in a match up with undefeated pugilist legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. However, when Mayweather pulled himself out of retirement, McGregor bit off a little more than he could chew.
Mayweather managed to end McGregor’s attempt to take over boxing with a tenth round TKO finish over the mixed martial artist. Grant it, McGregor still walked away with the payday of his career. “Notorious” allegedly earned a massive $100 million profit for his boxing debut.
Former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya entered a few heated discussions with UFC President Dana White leading up to the fight, as the boxing phenom often criticized the match up. However, the boxer recently revealed that he has been training in secret for the UFC superstar. De La Hoya has called out Conor McGregor.
As with all things Conor McGregor, odds makers have already begun creating odds for the potential match up. BetDSI.eu opened the odds in McGregor’s favor at -125, putting De La Hoya at +105. While McGregor’s performance ultimately failed to impress many boxing fans, it would appear that the fighter has still managed to edge out the advantage with the odds makers.
