Boxing phenoms Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin finally faced off in an epic super fight event earlier this summer. However, many fight fans were displeased with the result of the match up. Now, it would appear that a date for the rematch has now been revealed.
Alvarez and Golovkin (GGG) faced off inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on Sept. 16. The two fighters ended up going the distance and received a rather controversial draw. Now it would appear that the two striking phenoms are being targeted to face off again on May 5, 2018.
Speaking to TMZ Sports on the matter, former boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya stated:
“We are working on that for Cinco De Mayo next year, in Las Vegas in the same place, T-Mobile Arena. But, that fight is definitely going to happen.”
