UFC strawweight Paige VanZant was initially set to make her flyweight debut back at UFC 216. The fighter was set to face off against Jessica “Evil” Eye. However, VanZant was pulled from the fight after suffering a series of injuries. Since the unfortunate situation, “12 Gauge” has been giving her injuries some rest and getting back into fighting form. Now, it would appear that the fighter is ready to get back to the action.
Speaking on The MMA Hour, VanZant revealed that she now has a fight booked for UFC Fight Night 124. The event goes down Jan. 14, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri. VanZant has yet to official reveal her opponent for the upcoming match up, although rumors are suggesting a fight against the recently victorious Jessica-Rose Clark is being targeted.
“12 Gauge” has garnered a professional mixed martial arts record of 7-3. Most recently, VanZant suffered a first round submission loss to Michelle “Karate Hottie” Waterson at UFC on FOX 22.
