Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum has been a brash example of standing up for what you believe in.
As recently as his fight at UFC 217, Werdum almost got into a fist fight with now interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson. It was a highly publicized event that saw Werdum ejected from a media day by UFC officials.
Six weeks later, Werdum would once again get into an altercation with a much smaller welterweight fighter in Colby Covington. This time things did get physical and now there’s a criminal case pending against the former UFC heavyweight champion.
These two brushes with UFC code-of-conduct violations are capped off by the Brazilian’s multiple uses of homophobic slurs, both verbal and on social media.
Werdum’s character doesn’t seem to display the qualities of a role model, and these instances were not his first.
When Werdum defeated Travis Browne, he had a past-fight melee with Edmond, and even kicked him to the body inside the UFC’s cage.
With all the latest events surrounding Fabricio, Ronda Rousey’s coach took to Twitter with a message.
Check it out:
“@FabricioWerdum is a punk who only talks shit to smaller people. Fake tough guy.”
