“Thug” Rose Defies The Odds On Paddle Board

Rose Namajunas made the performance of her career at the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s recent UFC 217. For the mixed martial arts promotion’s second appearance at the world famous Madison Square Garden, the fighter challenged Joanna Jedrzejczyk for her strawweight title.

Going into UFC 217, Jedrzejczyk was undefeated in her mixed martial arts career. The fighter had garnered 14 victories, with wins over some of the division’s toughest opponents. Jedrzejczyk was quickly becoming one of the most dominant competitors in the promotion. However, everything changed in New York.

Namajunas earned a swift first round TKO victory over Jedrzejczyk, earning the fighter the strawweight title. Now an older video of “Thug” Rose has surfaced to the internet, offering an interesting look at the fighter from another perspective.

In the video above, Rose Namajunas can be seen paddle boarding in Minnesota. The fighter jumps into the cold water, but quickly makes her way back to her board. Fellow fighter and boyfriend to the now reigning champion, Pat Barry can be heard behind the camera.
