UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic is still on the hunt for his next opponent. Now it would appear that the fighter may be welcoming back a former champion for his next octagon performance.
Cain Velasquez is a two time former UFC heavyweight champion. The fighter suffered a tough loss to Fabricio Werdum at UFC 188. Velaquez would then find himself back inside the winning column with a first round TKO victory over Travis Browne at UFC 200 last year. However, Velasquez has since been plagued by injuries and has not competed inside the octagon this year. That being said, it would appear that the former champion may be making a big tile fight return in 2018.
As reported by Middle Easy, a new rumor suggests that Stipe Miocic and Cain Velasquez are being considered for a main event spot at UFC 220.
The event goes down Jan. 20 at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
