Sage Northcutt’s mixed martial arts career is only just beginning. That being said, the 21-year-old fighter has already put together an impressive professional record. With four victories inside the octagon, Northcutt has garnered a record of 9-2 in his career. Most recently, the fighter earned a unanimous decision victory over Michel Quinones at UFC Fight Night 120 in his return to the lightweight division. Already in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) at the age of 21 and having recently over the past months joined the highly acclaimed training camp Team Alpha Male full time, the fighter’s abilities will only improve from here. Of course, Northcutt has earned a reputation both inside and outside the cage.
Northcutt has earned a reputation for his polite and respectful attitude towards others. That being said, it would appear that the fighter once had a past of fighting outside the cage. Eventually, Northutt was momentarily suspended from school.
As heard in the video below, Northcutt reveals that he was involved in a fight or two back in high school. However, the UFC lightweight fighter was simply sticking up for his friends against bullies.
“Growing up as a kid, people do get bullied.” Sage Northcutt said. “I was always the kid growing up that would kind of stick up for everybody. There were a few fights I got in. I got suspended from school a few days before, but I was just sticking up for other people actually.”
