It wasn’t just weigh-in, show up and fight, for newly crowned UFC strawweight champion “Thug” Rose Namajunas.
If that was the case, her outing at UFC 217 might have been even easier.
Instead, the mental battle started in the months prior to Saturday’s UFC 217 event, and “Thug” Rose was forced to endure Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s wrath in both verbal and physical form.
In the end, Rose walked away knowing she defeated Joanna in both the physical and mental war, but she’s also using Joanna’s attitude as an example of what not to be when in the spotlight. It’s a rare take from a well respected athlete.
In one of her many post-fight interviews, Rose revealed her thoughts on changing the approach of pre-fight hype, and she thinks there’s just too much hate in the sport.
