Rose Namajunas shocked the Madison Square Garden Arena when she scored a knockout finish over Joanna Jedrzejczyk on Saturday night. The two fighters kicked off UFC 217’s first title fight of the night in New York on Saturday with “Thug” Rose earning a stunning upset victory over the UFC strawweight champion.
Jedrzejczyk was previously undefeated in her career. Having culminated a 14 fight winning streak as a mixed martial artist, the fighter was well on her way into being one of the UFC’s most dominant competitors. Still, Namajunas put an end to the fighter’s undefeated streak at UFC 217 with a swift first round knockout victory. Now the UFC has a new strawweight champion.
Taking to Instagram UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje recently offered an emotional message on Rose Namajunas’ recent victory. The fighter can be seen crying in happiness within the video above.
