The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) put another exciting night of fights in the books over the weekend, as the highly anticipated fight card UFC 217 went down on Nov. 4. The night featured three different title fights, with each title contender earning their belt.
The main event featured the octagon return of former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre. The fighter moved up in weight to challenge UFC middleweight champion Michael “The Count” Bisping for his title. St-Pierre would go on to defeat Bisping in the third round with a rear-naked choke.
The first title fight of the night saw Rose Namajunas earn a stunning first round victory over UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Of course, one of the night’s biggest upset wins came from the co-main event.
In the co-main event, UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt was looking to make his first title defense as he faced off against former champion and former teammate T.J. Dillashaw. “No Love” dropped Dillashaw in the first round, but was unable to lock in a finish over his opponent. In the second round, Dillashaw earned a title winning TKO victory over Garbrandt.
Now the UFC has released the “UFC 217: The Thrill and the Agony Preview.” In the video, Paige VanZant can be seen reacting cage side to Garbrandt’s defeat.
VanZant is a former girlfriend to “No Love” and can be seen beside UFC Hall of Famer and Team Alpha Male founder Urijah Faber reacting to Garbrandt’s tough loss within the video below.
