UFC Fighters React To Anderson Silva’s Second Failed Drug Test

It would appear that former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva may have to wait quite a while longer for his next octagon performance.

The fighter was set to face off against Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 212. However Gastelum failed a drug test for marijuana metabolites, resulting in the fighter being pulled from the event. “The Spider” was then rescheduled to take on Gastelum in the main event of UFC Fight Night 122, the mixed martial arts promotion’s premier trip to Shanghai, China on Nov. 25. However, Anderson Silva has since been flagged by USADA for a potential anti-doping policy violation. As a result, the hunt is now on for a new opponent for Gastelum.

Taking to social media, fighters and fight fans have begun offering their thoughts on the recent news. After all, this is not Silva’s first time being flagged by the anti-doping agency.

Back in 2015, Anderson Silva failed a pre-fight drug screening for Drostanolone. Silva claimed that the substance entered his system due to a tainted male enhancement drug. The fighter was fined and suspended for one year.

Here is what some of the UFC’s top competitors had to say about Silva’s recent USADA drug test failure:
