Keeping the numbers up for Team Alpha Male in Norfolk, longtime UFC veteran Clay Guida capped off his existing UFC contract with a career defining first round technical knockout over crafty UFC veteran Joe Lauzon.
Guida was able to hurt Lauzon standing and then followed him to the ground where he stormed him with hard ground and pound, before the referee came in to stop the fight.
After the bout, Guida took to the microphone and called the UFC to task. Stating he needs a raise, and hopes to end his career inside the UFC’s octagon.
UFC fighters took to social media in reaction to Guida’s big win.
Here’s what they had to say:

I love that Clay is angry that he cut Joe. I felt the same when I cut Duane. Sometimes you want to win cleanly. #UFCNorfolk

Oh boy. Ref gave @JoeLauzon lots of opportunity but @clayguida was relentless. Didn't want to see either lose. Both awesome people
