The UFC has a code of conduct policy in place for when fighters act out of place outside the cage.
There’s certain boundaries one must adhere to when living in the civilized world, and the UFC wants their athletes to be good role models in and out of the cage.
Earlier today, Fabricio Werdum punched Colby Covington in the face. Video surfaced and the story has now gone viral.
Earlier this year we saw a similar incident unfold between Cris Cyborg and Angela Magana. The UFC did not punish either athlete.
Now, in the case of Covington and Werdum, the UFC has released the following statement:
“UFC was made aware of the altercation between Fabricio Werdum and Colby Covington at the organization’s host hotel in Sydney, Australia. The organization will conduct a full investigation to determine if the Athlete Conduct Policy was violated before taking any further action on this matter.”
