UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw has been looking for a super-fight for some time now. When the fighter’s heated grudge match against Cody Garbrandt faced a momentary delay due to “No Love” suffering an injury, Dillashaw went on the prowl for a fight with UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. However, Johnson turned down the fighter’s offer. That being said, it has since been revealed by UFC President Dana White that the two mixed martial arts warriors are now set to throw down at a yet undisclosed date and venue. With that in mind, a video of Dillashaw cutting weight for the exciting match up has now surfaced to the internet.
When Dillashaw’s match up with “No Love” was delayed the fighter tried to set up a match with “Mighty Mouse.” Demetrious Johnson had a huge challenge ahead of him, as the fighter was one victory away from breaking the UFC’s record for most consecutive title defenses. Instead of facing Dillashaw, Johnson went on to earn a dazzling submission victory over top flyweight contender Ray Borg at UFC 216. Dillashaw would then go on to win back the bantamweight title in a match up against Cody Garbrandt at UFC 217.
Since then, UFC President Dana White revealed that “Mighty Mouse” and Dillashaw have been locked in for a match up. Taking to Instagram, Dillashaw has now decided to share a video of himself training to lose a total 6.4 pounds for the upcoming super-fight.
In the Instagram post, T.J. Dillashaw can be seen riding a training bike as one of the fighter’s coaches breaks down his target of 6.4 pounds that need to be lost before the big fight.
Check it out in the video below:
Dillashaw is now 15-3 in his mixed martial arts career, having most recently suffered a split decision loss to Dominick Cruz back in 2016. Johnson, on the other hand, is 27-2 as an MMA warrior with his most recent defeat dating back to 2011. Johnson’s most recent loss was also a decision loss to Dominick Cruz, though this one was unanimous.
