One need look no further than our cover photo to see just how qualified Sage Northcutt is to play Rocky movie legend Ivan Drago’s son. And now, according to the UFC star, he’s had a chance to audition for the role… Finally!
Sage Northcutt remains one of the UFC’s brightest stars. After a return to the lightweight division, the young talent was able to rebound from an unsuccessful stint in the UFC’s welterweight division.
Trying to realize a dream, Northcutt revealed on The MMA Hour that he has been allowed to submit an audition tape for the vacant role, and hopes to meet with the production team soon.
Here’s what he said:
“Actually, you know what? The new Creed 2 movie is coming out, so I actually was going to audition for that. I got them a little audition tape. Hopefully that goes through. That would be pretty neat. Being the Ivan Drago’s son in the movie, that would be pretty fun.
“I just had the hair a little bit different, for the audition. I think me and Mr. Dolph Lundgren look kind of alike. I did that (tape) while I was in Sacramento and I’m hoping to meet them soon.
The movie is expected to start filming in the early part of next year.
