Former UFC welterweight title challenger Jake Shields has been dominating the pro grappling circuit this year, but that’s not all he’s done. Earlier this year, violent protests took place at the University of California in Berkeley. The protests were due to controversial internet figure Milo Yiannopoulos, an editor with the conservative website Breitbart. The event was cancelled and things got violent at the college. While there Jake Shields saved a man, and became a real-life hero in the process.
In the middle of the fracas was the former Strikeforce middleweight champion, who helped diffuse a situation that could have gotten a lot worse.
Jake, being the tech savvy bad ass that he is, caught some of the moments on his cellphone, an posted it to his official Twitter account. In the video Shields can he heard stating, “Dude, you guys have your faces covered, you’re attacking people, you’re being (expletive) fascists,” Shields told one of the masked people. “Look at you guys, you’re (expletive) embarrassing.”
Here’s the replay:
The aftermath of me helping a guy after being jumped by thugs. The police and 100’s of civilians stood and watched.
