The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Winnipeg, Canada on Saturday, Dec. 16, for the mixed martial arts promotion latest fight card. Inside the Bell MTS Palace, the UFC is hosting UFC on FOX 26. Kicking off the night’s card, Jordan Mein and Erick Silva are battling it out for division dominance. The fight kicked off at a swift pace, as Mein managed to rush his opponent to the fence and throw him to the canvas for a takedown. Silva quickly made his way back to his feet and went toe-to-toe with the aggressive fighter.
With half of the first round in the books, Mein stuck Silva with a powerful right hand that put his opponent on his back foot. Silva managed to get his opponent in the clinch, but Mein quickly slipped out of the position and returned to the center of the octagon. It seemed to be a dominant first round performance for Jordan Mein.
Silva began to throw more leg kicks early in the second round, but Mein was eventually able to get his opponent to the mat and enter the full guard position. Mein began to throw some serious bombs on his opponent from the position, as Silva fought for wrist control over the fighter.
With a minute left in the fight, Mein continued to pummel his opponent with some ground and pound. Silva made a swift attempt to sweep out of the position, but failed to escape his opponent. The second round was another stunning performance for Mein.
The final round opened up with Mein once again setting the pace for the fight. After pressuring Silva with an increased frequency of strikes, Mein took the fighter down once again.
Halfway through the final round, Mein continued to strike down upon Silva with ground and pound. Silva managed to attempt a triangle choke over the fighter, but failed to secure a finish before Silva was able to escape the submission attempt.
In the final minute of the match up, Mein managed to get the mount position over his opponent and began raining down elbows over Silva.
