Executive Director of The Nevada Athletic Commission Bob Bennett wants Nate Diaz fighting back in his state. He said as much in a new interview and it’s seemingly out of left field, as Nate Diaz has not applied for a license to box in the state of Nevada.
UFC mega-star Nate Diaz is still under his UFC contract, and though he’s remained inactive the entire year, the world’s leader of combat sport’s commissions says they want Diaz back.
Nate Diaz holds the UFC #1 and #2 most bought pay-per-views of all-time to his credit. His legion of fans tune in whenever he speaks, let alone fights. His drawing power is equivalent to that of a Conor McGregor, who is the current industry leader.
The Stockton based fighter revealed last week that the UFC is trying to court his return big time. So much so that they’ve offered him a pick em title fight in any weight class he wants.
Still though, Nate Diaz has accepted nothing from the UFC, and his team believes in order for a return to the cage he deserves a $15 Million guarantee.
In Nate’s recent message to the world, he revealed that until the fighters on the UFC roster do something good, he’s turning his focus to the world of boxing.
In Nate’s statement he said, “Ufc offered me title fight in any weight class Im kool though I’ll givem a shot when they do something good.”

Now, speaking to Express Sports, the NAC director confirmed they’ve got no issues with Diaz making the shift to boxing.
Bennett stated, “I don’t think he’s requested a boxing license, to date. But from what I know of Nate and who he spars with, I believe he may have been a sparring partner at some point in time with Andre Ward, he and Nick.
“So, if he applied, I would see no reason why we wouldn’t license him. We would be happy to license him and we hope that he can fight in our state as well, ‘The Fight Capital of the World.’”
Maybe part three of the McGregor vs. Diaz trilogy is destined for the squared circle, not the Octagon!
