The sport of mixed martial arts is viewed many ways. For some, the sport is about competition. Other fight fans simply wish to watch as the art of fighting is perfected over the sport’s lifespan. However, for some, the cage is simply a place to enact violence upon others. Unfortunately, this fight was of the last mindset.
Heavyweights Jim Abadia and Servanto Aguilar faced off in a regional event for a tough battle under the Striker Fighting Championship banner. Abadia managed to drop his opponent with a powerful strike, following the blow with some brutal ground and pound that caused the referee to stop a call to the contest. However, the fight only escalated.
Rather than stop striking the downed fighter, Abadia struggled passed the referee to continue punching Aguilar. The referee eventually managed to separate Abadia from his opponent, allowing the fighter’s cornermen to rush the cage and subdue Abadia.
