The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is gearing up for yet another exhilarating night of fights. This time around, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is preparing for UFC 220. The exciting event is set to feature a fight card full of entertaining match ups, including a heavyweight war for the title in the night’s main event. Headliners Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou recently got a chance to meet face-to-face to talk a little trash before their big match up and the reigning heavyweight champion decided to take a different approach than his opponent.
UFC 220
UFC 220 goes down Jan. 20, 2018 inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. While the exciting night of fights is still a little bit away, the mixed martial arts promotion decided to hold the pre-fight press conference for UFC 220 on Friday, Dec. 29. During the conference, rising knockout artist Francis Ngannou and reigning UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic sat down to answer some questions from the media and to offer a little trash-talk in between.
Ngannou offered some harsh criticism of his opponent, claiming Miocic is intimidated by his title challenging opponent. Rather than retaliate with some trash-talk of his own, Miocic appeared uninterested in verbally sparring with his opponent. When asked if he felt intimidated going into UFC 220, Miocic sardonically responded “I guess so, whatever he says. Sure. I’m intimidated. Awesome.”
