Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White recently permitted UFC veteran and mixed martial arts warrior Diego Sanchez to take on a unique fight opportunity outside of the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion.
Sanchez helped his teammate and friend Isaac “The Shermanator” Marquez achieve a longstanding dream on Friday night, Dec. 1. Born with down syndrome, Marquez works hard at Team Jackson to one day achieve his dream of fighting inside the cage. On Friday night, the fighter achieved his goal and faced off against an MMA veteran.
Diego Sanchez granted the fighter’s wish and suffered a loss against Marquez via armbar. Check out a replay of the touching moment in the video above.
Diego Sanchez is currently on a two fight losing streak in his mixed martial arts career. The fighter suffered two consecutive knockout losses, making for the first times the fighter has been knocked out cold.
Most recently, “The Nightmare” suffered a first round knockout loss to Matt “The Immortal” Brown at UFC Fight Night 120. Prior to that, the fighter was knocked out cold by Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 108. Diego Sanchez is now 27-11 in his fighting career.
