UFC light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has not always been the epitome of a fantastically in-shape athlete. And this goes back to his days on the United States Olympic wrestling team when he was favored to win gold, but missed weight.
The UFC champion spent the start of his MMA career as a heavyweight, and even undersized in the height division he went unbeaten, even winning the illustrious and historic Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix as an alternate.
Modern day UFC fans though, only know the light-heavyweight version of Daniel Cormier, and despite shedding the pounds to move down to 205, D.C. has always had his signature belly on him.
That belly though, is a thing of the past as we enter into UFC 220 fight week. A motivated Daniel Cormier, coming off the first stoppage loss of his career is now in the shape of his life.
There is absolutely no question that the champ took his camp serious this time around, as he has worked his belly completely off.
Very few photos have emerged of D.C. in the lead up to this weekend’s co-main event, but we have one, and as you can see for yourself, the belly is completely gone.
Here’s D.C.’s remarks and photo:
“Solid treadmill work and cardio last night with the best in the business @camacho100. We haven’t taken the foot off the gas yet, we’re still grinding 8 days out. I feel amazing and ready. Once again great camp boys!! Well ran, professional.
