Betting odds for one of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s most exciting upcoming match ups have been revealed. This time, oddsmakers have provided numbers for the epic title fight between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently announced that UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be moving up in weight to challenge UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic for his title. Rumors of the super fight began to spread after the events of UFC 220.
Miocic earned a dominant unanimous decision victory over rising knockout artist Francis Ngannou in the night’s main event. Co-headlining the show, Daniel Cormier earned a second round TKO victory over tough contender Volkan Oezdemir.
UFC President Dana White would go on to express his interest in seeing the two champions face off in a super fight shortly after the events of UFC 220. Daniel Cormier initially showed hesitation in accepting the offer.
While Cormier was originally a heavyweight competitor, the fighter dropped down to light heavyweight in order to avoid competing against AKA teammate and former heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. That being said, the two UFC champions are now set to throw down on the live pay-per-view broadcast of UFC 226.
The event will take place inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. on July 7 for International Fight Week. With the fight having been officially revealed, the time has come to take a look at the opening betting odds for the exciting match up.
MMA oddsmaker Joey Oddessa recently confirmed with MMA Junkie the opening odds for Miocic vs. Cormier. The veteran oddsmaker has Stipe Miocic as a betting favorite at
-185, while Cormier is coming in as the underdog at +150.
