Boxing’s next big mega-star Anthony Joshua will make a reportedly large sum for his upcoming boxing fight against Joseph Parker in their heavyweight title unification bout.
Joshua represents one of boxing’s big break out stars of 2017, and his stock continues to rise.
In a new report coming from the European media, Joshua, boxing’s most acclaimed heavyweight world champion is set to make £15 million, which is approximately $20.3 Million U.S. dollars.
It’s a massive sum for the young talent, who just turned 28 years old a few months ago.
Gareth Davies of the Telegraph has more about the pending bout:
Anthony Joshua vs Joseph Parker, the highly anticipated heavyweight world title unification fight, is likely to be confirmed this week after Parker’s promoter David Higgins flew to the UK for a face-to-face meeting with Eddie Hearn.
The two camps are expected complete contractual talks for the contest in the coming days. The fight could generate in the region of £35million, and although the split of the purse has remained publicly undisclosed by both camps, it is understood that that Joshua will be in line for around 67 per cent. Parker’s team appear to have settled for a 33 per cent divide after weeks of wrangling.
Higgins spoke to Telegraph Sport last night stating that he was “flying to London now to hopefully finalise the deal” having spent last week going over a contract emailed to Duco Events from Hearn which both sides are close to agreeing for the fight to go ahead.
