UFC president Dana White just dropped a bombshell while on the UFC on FOX post fight show.
According to the UFC President, Conor McGregor will not return in time to halt the UFC from stripping him from his world title. As such, the UFC is working on putting together the Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov fight, and it will be for the undisputed world title.
Dana stated, “There’s no doubt that Khabib is the guy to fight…”
“Conor has said he’s thinking about coming back until September.”
“If he comes back in September, that’s almost two years, that can’t happen. It’s not fair to everybody else.”
“Love Conor, respect Conor, love everything he’s done for this company. The belt would have to move on.”
“You do Khabib vs. Tony, we’re working on that fight now.”
“If and when Conor comes back he would get first crack at the title.”

Of course, the UFC will halt the stripping of Conor Mcgregor, if he returns this March, which looks highly unlikely.
This means McGregor will be stripped of a belt for the second time. The only man to trump this accolade is Jon Jones who has been stripped three times.
