Boxing phenom Canelo Alvarez has reportedly come to an agreement over terms for the highly anticipated rematch with fellow pugilist all-star Gennady Golovkin.
Alvarez and “GGG” first faced off at inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. for boxing dominance on Sept. 16, 2017. However, pugilist fans did not receive the dramatic end that many had come to expect.
Rather, Alvarez vs. Golovkin ended in a highly controversial draw, leaving many fans desperate for a definitive answer to which boxer was truly better.
As reported by The Los Angeles Times, Golden Boy Promotions’ president Eric Gomez has come forward to reveal that Canelo Alvarez has reached an agreement for his rematch against Gennady Golovkin.
The bout is now expected to take place May 5. under the assumption that both contracts are finalized. According to Gomez, the match will either take place inside the T-Mobile arena in New York’s own Madison Square Garden.
