Conor McGregor Getting Stripped Paves Way For Diaz Trilogy Fight

Despite the fact that Conor McGregor is in real danger of losing his second UFC world title, it could be the best thing for him, the sport, and Nate Diaz.

With his world title in hand, the UFC’s biggest star in McGregor was out of the Nate Diaz super-fight hunt.

That’s because as a champion, the UFC was going to make Conor McGregor fight the rightful #1 contender, instead of putting together the highly anticipated trilogy fight against Nate Diaz.

Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor, both the first and the second fight, broke every UFC money record the promotion has ever seen.

They shattered the prior bests set by Brock Lesnar and GSP, and a third matchup is promised to be another record breaking event.

There has been no better build up, no more entertaining press conferences, no more entertaining weigh-in, and no more entertaining trash talk, than when Stockton California vs. Dublin Ireland are at the heart of the sport.

These facts cannot be ignored.

The Diaz Nation, and Conor McGregor’s legion of fans are the sport’s two most passionate and largest fanbases today. And a third fight is sure to deliver just as well as the prior two.

So, with Diaz and McGregor both promising each other a trilogy match. And with the UFC looking likely to strip McGregor in favor of a Ferguson vs. Khabib fight for the undisputed belt, could Conor vs. Diaz III be on the horizon?

Is the return of the blockbuster mega-fight in the UFC back in 2018?
