The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is hosting an exciting night of fights on Sunday, Jan. 14. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is inside the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri tonight for UFC Fight Night 124.
The exciting night of fights is set to see Doo Ho Choi and Jeremy Stephens go toe-to-toe for division dominance in the entertaining headliner. However, there is a fight card of exciting fights that are set to take place before fans get a chance to see the two featherweights throw down.
Fighting on UFC Fight Pass, strawweights Danielle Taylor and JJ Aldrich are now throwing down for the St. Louis crowd. Here is a look at the UFC results for the exciting event.
The fight kicked off at a swift pace, as the two mixed martial artists quickly closed the distance and entered a short exchange. Taylor stuck Aldrich with a body shot, but took a strong jab to the face as a result.
The fighters began methodically measuring each other’s reach, as the fight slowed down to a more measured pace. Halfway through the round, neither fighter appeared to have taken much significant damage.
Aldrich quickly went in for a takedown attempt, rushing her opponent to the fence. The fighter then managed to slam Taylor into the canvas, making her way to half guard.
In the final moments of the round, Aldrich continued to hold a dominant position over her opponent but struggled to deal any significant damage from the ground.
The second round opened with Aldrich pushing the pace on her opponent. Taylor began to fight off of her back foot, as Aldrich continued to walk down the fighter.
Taylor began to increase her lower frequency of strikes, as Aldrich began to slow down. Taylor utilized her jab, while Taylor continued to work the body of her opponent.
With a minute left in the round, the two mixed martial artists kept things on the feet. Both fighters seemed content to box inside the octagon.
Aldrich made an attempt for a takedown in the final moments of the round, but was unable to get Taylor to the ground.
The final round started with a bang, as the fighters entered a quick exchange in an attempt for dominance early in the final five minutes of their fight.
Aldrich stunned her opponent with a powerful spinning back fist, but Taylor quickly retaliated with a big strike of her own. The crowd began to liven as the two fighters picked up the pace in an octagon war.
With half of the final round in the books, Aldrich and Taylor continued to exchange jabs and kicks with a fierce tenacity. Aldrich continued to control the pace of the fight, but appeared to have taken some serious damage to her continually bruising face.
In the end, Aldrich and Taylor went the distance.
