The EA UFC Cover Curse, And How It Might Hit Conor McGregor Too

Conspiracy theorists and tin foil hat bearers will have us all thinking that the EA UFC video game covers are indeed cursed.

In the first title, EA UFC, Jon Jones and Alexander Gustaffson both graced the cover. This was before Jon Jones ran into any trouble, and before Gustafsson lost two world title shots. Of course, Gustafsson is rarely active these days and Jon Jones really does seem like he’s cursed.

The second video game title, EA UFC 2, featured Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor. This was before Ronda Rousey lost her world title to Holly Holm, and a second title fight to Amanda Nunes.

It was also released before Conor McGregor lost to Nate Diaz and Floyd Mayweather.

So, for the first two EA UFC game covers, one could argue that the fighters that graced them had a run of bad luck following the accolade.

Which brings us to EA UFC 3.

The latest title in the UFC’s official video game has a cover, that for the first time features just one fighter. And that fighter is Conor McGregor.

And while Conor may have already felt the curse from the second game title, it is likely that he’s about to get stripped for a second time of his UFC belt.

If stripped, this will make the EA UFC curse preachers even more convinced that the curse is real. As it will be the third straight cover that the athlete lost a world title after being featured on it.

So far, fighters from every cover of the video game have suffered a great deal after being featured on the game cover.

Will Conor be double cursed?
