Earlier this week, UFC star Nate Diaz announced his intentions to return to the fight game later this year. And it couldn’t come at a better time.
The UFC’s 2017 was Diaz, McGregor, Rousey, and Lesnar absent, and they suffered a 55% dip in viewership accross all television platforms.
Nate Diaz represents one of the biggest draws in the sport today, and when he announced his return, Eddie Alvarez was first to jump on board the Nate Diaz express and challenge the fighter to a scrap.
Now, taking things even one step further, Eddie Alvarez, in response to a fan, has implied that he will stand up and trade with Nate the entire fight.
It’s a bold statement, as Nate Diaz is widely considered one of the best boxers in the sport today.
Here’s Eddie’s comments:
Nate’s biggest weakness is his wrestling. If you can take him down. Fights pretty much a win for that guy. Nate’s good but when’s the last time he had a submission off his back. It’s been years and years. Eddie will not stand with Nate. He’s not that dumb
