A highly anticipated fight card is going down tonight, Jan. 20, inside the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is hosting UFC 220 for fight fans worldwide. Kicking off the night’s preliminary card, featherweights Dan Ige and Julio Arce are throwing down for division dominance.
Ige kicked off the first round with a takedown over Arce, but Arce was quick to get back to his feet before taking any significant damage.
Halfway through the round, Arce began to push the pace with a higher frequency of strikes. Arce then clipped Ige with a brutal right hand that seemed to rock Ige.
Ige went for a takedown attempt in reaction to the pummeling, but failed to keep Arce on the canvas.
Arce opened up the second round at a brutal pace, stuffing Ige’s takedowns. Keeping things on the feet, Arce continued to pummel his opponent with brutal strikes.
Halfway through the second round, Ige began to fire back with some well timed counters. However, Arce appeared to be getting the better of his opponent on the feet.
Ige went for a single leg takedown in the final minute of the round, but got stuffed by his opponent. This was seemingly a dominant round for Arce.
Ige opened the final round with a vengeance, pushing the pace on Arce with a flurry of strikes. Arce still appeared to be getting the better of the exchanges, but Ige refused to back down.
Arce began to stalk Ige down in the final two minutes of the fight, peppering his opponent with tough jabs. Ige began to show his toughness as he continued to trade with the fighter.
The two fighters finished the round with a crowd roaring flurry of strikes until the bell.
