Sometimes a fighter will buy into his own hype, and it seems like in the case of Francis Ngannou, that’s exactly what he did.
He was the odds favorite in last weekend’s UFC 220 bout, and despite being the world’s hardest puncher ever recorded, he fell into the quick sand game plan of Stipe Miocic and lost his first UFC fight.
Ngannou really believed he was destined to be the greatest heavyweight fighter the sport had ever seen, and the UFC built him up that way as well.
Unfortunately though, Stipe Miocic had other plans, and thoroughly dominated the African from bell to bell.
Now, breaking his silence on social media for the first time since his dominant loss, Ngannou announces that he is taking time off from the UFC.
Check it out:
In my dark way, I’m taking some time off which will benefit my personal life by going back home to enjoy family and friends . Then I’ll be back to set businesses up #relaxation #familytime
