Top UFC heavyweight star Francis Ngannou is already on the championship payscale (minus a PPV cut), for his upcoming UFC 220 title fight main event against Stipe Miocic.
UFC 220 features a UFC heavyweight world title fight in the night’s main event, between champion Stipe Miocic, and challenger Francis Ngannou. This fight alone is worth the price of admission, but the UFC has also booked a co-main event title fight in the form of Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir.
It’s an action packed event, sure to deliver fireworks, and now we know just how much the headliner is making for his efforts.
While in France, the heavyweight knockout artist touched on a number of topics in a new televised interview, including how much he’s getting paid for Saturday Night’s main event.
Ngannou explained during the sit down that his base Salary for Saturday’s main event is set at $500,000.00, which is championship level pay.
He also discussed his rise from poverty, explaining that he never graduated from school, as he had to start working at 10 years old to help provide for his struggling family.
He reveals how he illegally moved to France as an immigrant to try and escape that same poverty.
He explains how his own father was a notorious street fighter with a bad reputation. He credits his fighting skills and punching power to that of his father’s genetics.
He said when he was a young kid he could labor that of 3 co-workers, and knew his strength was special and extraordinary.
