The steakhouse founded by former UFC welterweight champion Johny Hendricks has closed its doors.
Back in 2015, Hendricks opened a steakhouse in his hometown of Midlothian, Texas. Titled “Bigg Rigg Steakhouse,” after the fighter’s UFC moniker, the restaurant has since closed its doors.
The establishment offered everything from $13 eight-ounce sirloins to $21 16-ounce T-Bones. The former champion would go on to claim that the restaurant was established as a way to give back to the community.
Speaking to Dallas Morning News, Hendricks announced that the restaurant is no more.
“Restaurant is done. I tried a business that failed; you learn from it and move forward.” Hendricks stated.
The former champion is now coming off of a second round TKO loss to Paulo Henrique Costa from UFC 217. Hendricks has earned a record of 18-8 during his storied career in the sport of mixed martial arts, though the fighter has now found himself on a two fight losing streak.
