Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is finally back in the position he wants to be in. After losing the middleweight title to Michael Bisping at UFC 199, Rockhold is finally in the front of the line to challenge for UFC gold.
Rockhold will face interim middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, who has looked nothing short of amazing during his recent run. Whittaker has already defeated the likes of Derek Brunson, Jacare Souza and Yoel Romero just to name a few of the top fighters on his resume. The champion has been sidelined with an injury for the past few months, but is ready to return and defend his title at UFC 221.
Meanwhile, Rockhold was able to put himself back in the win column after defeating former WSOF champion David Branch at UFC Fight Night 116. However, even though this has been Rockhold’s only octagon appearance since his loss to Bisping, he’s as confident as ever as he prepares for his showdown with Whittaker at UFC 221.
