While Conor McGregor and Tony Ferguson may share the same management, it would appear that “Notorious” did not have a warm welcome when he tried to train at Ferguson’s favorite gym.
Back when “Notorious” was gearing up for his professional boxing debut, the UFC superstar spent some time in California. As a result, McGregor focused much of his efforts getting some training in at various gyms during his stay in the states.
The fighter decided to visit Ferguson’s gym for some training, but “El Cucuy” quickly let McGregor know that he was not welcome. Ferguson and McGregor are both managed by Audie Attar, but it seemed to make little difference to Ferguson.
Taking to Twitter, Ferguson shot out a heated message to “Notorious.”
“Settin Standards & locations for others 2 follow. i.e @TheNotoriousMMA You rented the Gym I train at w/ my Trainer… #BacktoIreland Traitor,” Ferguson stated.
It has since been reported that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is allegedly planning to officially announce Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Tony Ferguson this weekend, Jan. 20, for the undisputed lightweight title.
While “Notorious” holds the belt, McGregor had not competed inside teh octagon since 2016 and has yet to defend his title a single time. As a result, it would appear that the mixed martial arts promotion is interested in having the title vacated for Ferguson’s alleged upcoming match up.
