UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic broke the UFC heavyweight title defense record in last weekend’s UFC 220 main event against Francis Ngannou. He defied the odds, and “beat the brakes” off the African wrecking machine, who had the full support of the UFC behind him.
Miocic did all this while maintaining his day job as a Blue Collar Cleveland fire fighter.
On the other hand, his opponent Francis Ngannou had lodging, and training all covered by the UFC, as he is a product of the promotion’s new Performance Institute, and had the best trainers and facilities at his finger tips.
And while none of that mattered come fight night, there was a glaring misbalance of promotion in the lead up to UFC 220, and the Miocic family was not pleased.
Instead of making a big deal about it though, Stipe did his talking in the cage, and after the fight he denied Dana White from placing his new belt on him.
On the Monday after the bout, the UFC’s official instagram posted a photo of Miocic with the belt, and asked fight fans if they thought he was the greatest heavyweight ever.
This rubbed Stipe’s pregnant wife the wrong way, because she annihilated the UFC in the comment section of the post.

Continued disrespect for the blue collar, stand up individual serving his community, and dominating his devision. This is a man that goes above and beyond for everyone he meets and does nothing but gracefully display his talent. He is a shining example of a hero, a family man, a role model for kids and everyone else he encounters. You really need to re-evaluate who it is that you choose to stand behind. Very disappointing. But sadly, not surprising.
