USADA
There were three UFC fighters in 2017 who got tested by USADA a grand total of 14 times. All of these fighters were top ranked in their respective divisions. There was also one highly ranked fighter who did not get tested a single time by the UFC drug testing program.
UFC strawweight Tecia Torres was tied with Holly Holm and T.J. Dillashaw as the most tested fighters of the year, in 2017. All three fighters are top ranked in their weight classes, and one is a UFC champion.
On the other side of the coin, the number nine ranked Ronda Rousey, despite not being retired, and despite her ever present standings as the #9 ranked female in the UFC, she was not tested a single time.
Though she lost twice in her recent fights, UFC president Dana White confirmed recently that Ronda Rousey is not retired since she refuses to officially call it quits. He also confirmed that she’s still being drug tested. However this doesn’t seem to be the case.
His statement reads, “She has not retired. USADA is still popping up at her house testing her, but she refuses to retire.”
“I don’t know [about Rousey]. I honestly don’t know… She’s not ready to say, ‘I quit.’ She’s not ready to say, ‘I’m done,’ for whatever reason. She doesn’t tick like everyone else ticks.”
Rousey hasn’t fought since her loss to UFC bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes at UFC 207. That was also her first fight back in the octagon since being upset by Holly Holm at UFC 193.
