Rose Namajunas shocked the world when she dropped formerly dominant UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 217. The fighter entered the octagon as the underdog, but put an end to Jedrzejczyk’s undefeated title reign within minutes. Now the reigning champion of the strawweight class, Namajunas has naturally become the target for many of the division’s contenders. Whichever fighter steps up to challenge the champion, Namajunas has a simple message for them.
Taking to Instagram, Namajunas stated “And new 2017
And still 2018.”
There is no word on who Namajunas will fight in her first title defense. However, most believe she will face Jedrzejczyk again, as there’s already a built in story with the two of them.
