It would appear that Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson has had his salary figures leaked by a prominent UFC employee. The fighter is seemingly making less than some would initially have believed.
UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has been on a tear through the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Having not lost a match since 2011, Johnson is now on a stunning 13 fight winning streak.
Having seemingly shut down the entire flyweight division from ever getting the title, “Mighty Mouse” has put on a storied career in the sport of mixed martial arts. Still, Johnson is perhaps not being compensated as well as other competitors in the sport.
UFC commentator Jon Anik recently discusses the flyweight champion at length on his podcast Anik and Florian. During the podcast, Anik revealed what Johnson’s take home for his battle against Wilson Reis at UFC on FOX 24 was.
“DJ made $440,000,” Anik revealed on his podcast. “Not a bad payday, but when you’re the greatest fighter of all time, with 10 successful title defenses, I think you should be clearing a million bucks.”
Johnson would go on to submit Ray Borg in glorious fashion at UFC 216, breaking Anderson Silva’s coveted record for most consecutive title defenses in the UFC.
