When Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut on Sunday night, it all but signified that her time with the UFC is over.
Without Ronda Rousey, the UFC would have likely not ever agreed to include women among their ranks.
The Judo Olympic medalist was dominant in her run through the Strikeforce ranks, and when the UFC bought out the promotion, they brought in Ronda Rousey with the rest of the roster, and secured her as the face of WMMA.
Ronda would continue her dominant run in her first several fights under the UFC banner. Only to be halted by a Holly Holm head kick that would forever end the Rousey era.
Over the past year, Ronda has been absent from UFC competition. She’s taken to upgrading her personal life instead, and gotten married to her longtime boyfriend Travis Browne.
Last night, she reemerged in the spotlight, and with a new full-time deal in place with the WWE.
And despite losing one of their biggest stars of all-time, the official UFC is fully backing Ronda’s move to a rival sport.
This is evidenced by the following tweet sent out by the official UFC twitter account.

In a bonus tweet, former UFC VP of operations Dave Sholler also shared his reaction to Ronda’s big reveal, and he was live in attendance for it.
Here’s Dave Sholler’s reaction:
Great to be here tonight to support my friend @RondaRousey! Once again making history! pic.twitter.com/oQBty97Y50

Ronda Rousey is expected to make her WWE in ring debut with The Rock as her tag team partner at this year’s Wrestlemania event on April 8.
