SBG Ireland teammate and sparring partner to Conor McGregor, UFC’s Artem Lobov has come forward with a reveal of which fighter “Notorious” will be facing off against next inside the octagon.
Interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson and top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov are set to throw down for the undisputed UFC lightweight title at UFC 223. Now Artem Lobov is confident Conor McGregor will be facing off against the victor from the upcoming match up.
Speaking on the Talking Brawls podcast, Artem Lobov offered his thoughts on Nurmagomedov and McGregor potentially facing off in Russia.
“I feel the first UFC event in Russia, Khabib vs. Conor. It has a special feel.” Lobov said. “I was very excited to see that news, that the UFC are going to Russia finally.”
When asked directly if McGregor will be facing the winner of Ferguson vs. Nurmagomedov, Lobov added “I certainly think that, of course. Like I said, he’s the champion. There is going to be clear challenger come April 7 and then that is who Conor is going to fight.”
UFC 223 goes down April 7 inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The event will be available live on pay-per-view.
