It would appear that mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA is currently in negotiations with former UFC title challenger Jon Fitch.
Jon Fitch made an impressive run through the UFC’s 170 pound division during his career, ultimately making his way to a title shot. While the fighter would never earn a UFC belt, Fitch has become the PFL welterweight champion.
Now the mixed martial arts veteran has taken to the internet to reveal that he is now a free agent. Within the video above, Fitch explains that he is currently in negotiations with Bellator MMA over a possible fight contract.
“As of (Friday), Feb. 2, I am officially a free agent,” Fitch said. “I’m in talks with Scott Coker and Bellator right now – hopefully we’ll work something out by the end of this week.”
This would not be the first former UFC phenom to make their way to the Bellator banner, as fighters from former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson to former title challenger Chael Sonnen are now competitors for the promotion.
