Breaking: Dillashaw Out, Henry Cejudo In vs. “Mighty Mouse” Johnson

In a startling new turn of events, the proposed champion vs. champion super-fight between Demetrious Johnson and TJ Dillashaw is off, and former UFC title challenger, and Olympic gold medalist, Henry Cejudo vs. UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is on.

The bout will serve as a rematch of their UFC 197 bout, which Cejudo lost via TKO in round 1.

Cejudo’s manager Ali Abdelaziz took to twitter announcing the fight, and MMAimports.com reached out to sources close to the situation to confirm the report as 100% accurate. According to our independent sources, this fight is on.

Here’s what the infamous manager had to say:

Demetrius johnson vs @HenryCejudo coming to you in the summer. Who’s excited?

Henry is a different guy since they last fought. Demetrius is amazing and a great ambassador, but [now] it’s cejudo time!

It is unclear right now which upcoming event these two will fight on, as both camps are likely instructed to hold off on leaking the news until an official UFC announcement.

TJ Dillashaw was expected to face the UFC’s P4P king next, but after negotiations went south to fight Cody Garbrandt in a last minute UFC 222 headliner, to save the card, Dillashaw is likely not in the good graces of the UFC.

As such, his golden opportunity for the super-fight was likely pulled when he failed to play the game. We expect the UFC to make a big push towards the Dillashaw vs. Garbrandt bout as a result.
