The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Perth, Western Australia over the weekend for another exciting night of fights. With UFC 221 now in the books, former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman has come forward with his reaction to the night’s main event.
Former title holder Luke Rockhold went toe-to-toe with tough UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero in the headliner for UFC 221 on Saturday night, Feb. 10. The two were initially set to battle it out for the interim middleweight title.
After Romero missed weight, Rockhold became the only headliner for the night eligible for the title. However, things did not go the former champion’s way.
Romero earned a knockout victory over Rockhold in the third round, putting a definitive end to the night’s exhilarating octagon war. Chris Weidman has since taken to social media to let his thoughts on the matter be known.
Weidman has a history with Rockhold and Romero. The former champion suffered the first loss of his mixed martial arts career to Luke Rockhold at UFC 194, bringing an end to Weidman’s title reign over the middleweight division.
The fighter would go on to suffer a knockout loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 205, making for Weidman’s second career loss. Now Weidman has come forward over Twitter with a reaction to Romero’s stunning finish over the former title holder at UFC 221.

Weidman would later respond to those thinking the fighter was being smug about the loss.
And no that’s not me laughing at all. That’s a cringe face…
