UFC on FOX 28 took place inside the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. over the weekend. Now the controversial finish from the night’s main event is getting some attention from the night’s commentators.
Team Alpha Male’s Josh Emmett and Alliance MMA’s Jeremy Stephens went toe-to-toe in the night’s main event, with Stephens ultimately earning a knockout victory over his opponent in the second round. However, a series of strikes that led to the end of the fight are now coming under criticism.
Emmett was seemingly struck by an illegal knee during the final exchange of the fight, as well as a potential series of illegal elbows. UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was cage side for the fight and offered his thoughts in a conversation with the UFC on FOX crew after the event.
During the conversation, Cormier and Alliance MMA’s Dominick Cruz entered a brief argument over the legality of Stephens’ strikes. Check out the conversation within the video below:
