The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is scrambling to find a replacement opponent for Frankie Edgar, as Max Holloway pulled out of his main event match against the fighter for UFC 222. With that in mind, it would appear that UFC President Dana White is not interested in seeing Nate Diaz fill the role.
UFC superstar Nate Diaz has already come forward to reveal an interest in saving the card and filling the empty main event slot for UFC 222. However, Dana White has communicated that he has no interest in the fighter competing on the card.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, Dana White responded to the question of if Nate Diaz could be the answer for UFC 222 with a previous statement.
“He [Diaz] doesn’t want to fight.
“We have made around five or six fights in the last six months and he has turned them all down. Alvarez, [Justin] Gaethje, [Edson] Barboza and [interim lightweight champion Tony] Ferguson multiple times.”
The UFC president texted The Times a rolled eyes emoji before rehashing the quote in another text message to the news source.
